Following her recent sell-out success at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Katie joins the bill as a special guest in an already amazing concert, “ Sculthorpe Songbook”. This show, on at the Malvern Town Hall on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 May, features brilliant Sydney trumpeter Phil Slater interpreting the music of one of Australia’s most respected composers, Peter Sculthorpe, and special guest vocalist Tim Freedman from The Whitlams. The band also features Matt McMahon, Simon Barker, Carl Dewhurst, Brett Hirst and the Silo String Quartet, Peter Sculthorpe will MC the performances. Having Katie and Tim Freedman on vocals will add an extra dimension to the music, where the band assembled by Phil Slater will offer an exciting new perspective to the music of Peter Sculthorpe. No, we're saying she doesn't bugger off overseas instead of doing a gig in Melbourne.

Now, now, Ladies! Fight nicely, like, over a game of golf, where you're armed with a range of long metallic objects... My money is on aj...

No, we're saying she doesn't bugger off overseas instead of doing a gig in Melbourne. Somehow I cant see Katie as an Associate Prof. of a certain not so long but much noisier metallic object - apart from anything else I dont think she's capable of fitting enough expletives in one sentence. ...good luck guts

No, you have to play them as dotted quavers followed by semiquavers to make them into jazz.

PS : Steve Elphick is doing the Sculthorpe/Slater gigs, not Brett Hirst.
