From BL website...................
As a result of his win in the 2003 White Foundation World Sax Competition at the Montreux Jazz Festival, tenor saxophonist Jamie Oehlers was based in the U.K. in 2004 to take advantage of various opportunities flowing from the win. In July 2004, his Quartet toured the European jazz festival circuit, including support for Pat Metheny at the Montreux, and the BBC Radio 3 London Jazz Festival and Ronnie Scott's. Based in Melbourne once again, Jamie is joined by fellow journeyman, pianist Ian Chaplin for an exciting project band, featuring Dave Beck (drums) and Leah Barker (bass), sure to blow the minds of all that hear it.

There are plenty of alto players who don't play tenor. Not saying that Ian Chaplin is necessarily one of them, I don't know where you got that idea.

Great gig. An absolute pleasure to hear Ian Chaplin (the alto player!), having never heard him before. What a player! And beautiful stuff from Jamie, Leigh, and Dave. Jamie, gotta love You Are Here, best way to finish a set I reckon. "HEAPS WICKED!" says the South Aussie in me.
