Let's say hello to lots of people! Ye gods! Mim, please tell me that's just 'saying hello' and not a mass nomination!

punter: In a reply / post, click the Insert Image button. fourth from the left, bottom row in the Add Tags: bit above your reply. (hint it has a picture of a picture on it!) Then you get an image / close image tag appearing in your post. Looks something like this. [ img ] / [ /img ] (without all the spaces). Type in the Internet location of the pic. It will be a url, including http: and all that guff between the img and close img tags. i.e. between the [ img ] and the [ /img ]

bugger, you can't upload something from your own hard-drive, I have a photo some might find mildly amusing. Oh well

No, Miriam, not a mass nomination. I can't imagine Ironguts as a moderator, myself. Nor Tinky, for that matter, though I wouldn't want to underestimate his capabilities.
p.s. What a cool name you have!

Punter, just use imageshack.us or imagevenue, they even give you a choice of links (url only, thumbnail, full size). Very simple. For example this high quality photo of some musos (I can't quite recall who they are and where I saw them...) You might get the odd pop-up, but it's a pretty easy way to go. Sorry, the pic is big (too slack to make it smaller for suckers on dial-up!).

Marksiks - in your copy-and-paste Google job on LadyLex you left out this (and those who think she's some kind of vacuous bimbo please note): JoAnn Curtis (B. Mus. L Mus A. A Mus. A)I hope people are informed enough to know the concert artist level of instrumental ability and musicianship required to attain an L.Mus.A from the AMEB. As far as I'm concerned she's amongst the most musically qualified people on this forum. And you left out this: JoAnn Curtis (B. Mus. L Mus A. A Mus. A) completed her Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium in 1999, majoring in Classical Piano under Dr Oleg Stepanov and secondary instrument Flute with Gerard Dutton. In 2000, she commenced her Masters Thesis studying the musical aspects of African American Popular Music since 1940. And when did she finish it? With her astonishing verbiage, prodigious output, and tremendous familiarity with her own opinions I reckon it would have taken her about a day and a half. Nevertheless, even despite her virtual invitation to do so, this comprehensive outing of a member of the forum does seem slightly against the spirit of things. One suspects that she craves the attention, but it's still hardly the point.

Nevertheless, even despite her virtual invitation to do so, this comprehensive outing of a member of the forum does seem slightly against the spirit of things. One suspects that she craves the attention, but it's still hardly the point. OK guys Ladylex invited people to out her by Googling, pointing out that "LadyLex" was a business name she used on the public record. Marksiks made reference to Glen apparently having done the required Googling and revealing her identity, but the relevant post by Glen (if it existed?) seems to have been deleted. Anyway Marksiks reposted LadyLex's identity in full as well as her place of work and then posted selected bits from her public biography, choosing bits easily satirised and omitting her real and distinguished achievements as well as casting aspersions on her career ("bored as batshit" I think was the quote). Things having already gone to that point, I posted the credentials that marksiks left out, including the yummy pic that goes with her public bio. I don't know about "the spirit of things". The spirit I was entering into was that since the outing had already happened -and with some considerable detail - I wanted to share some impressive things about a terrific person that had been omitted. In no way am I trying to control content here by the way. I've basically resigned as moderator. I am however still as free as anybody else to post my views as a member, and guys, my views don't inherently carry any more weight OK? Peace.
