“What we are doing here,” he says “may be better for many musicians than giving them a gig.” - Dadon
Gee thanks Albert, all of us who don't have a gig give you a big thank you.
-sending a message out to the wider jazz world about a city that the world’s finest jazz musicians will want to visit and play in.-
I thought they already did, oh well, shows how wrong one can be.

Nah, apparently we're all shyte Albert's right, I feel much better by not getting a gig than I would if I, heaven forbid, actually GOT a gig. We should all be grateful to Al Bear. Maybe what he means, by stating it may be better for us than giving us a gig, is that he is going to distribute the profits amongst the Melbourne jazz community!! Or maybe he is going to save us the angst of being totally shafted by his good self and rip off OS musicians instead - thanks Al Bear, I think I love you

Dudes this newlsetter doesnt make sense to me. it says the festival features "the best australian musicians available" so does that mean all you guys are booked out for may? from jazz.org.au Earlier this month Melbourne Jazz announced the remainder of its festival program. To be known as Crown Melbourne Jazz, the11-day event will be held from 3 May and feature marquee artists, including Gary Burton, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner and Pharoah Sanders. Australian artists include Kate Ceberano, Joe Chindamo, Yvette Johansson, The Moovin' & Groovin' Orchestra, James Morrison, Janet Seidel, Elana Stone, Aaron Choulai and Mike Nock. Miriam Zolin spoke to artistic director Albert Dadon about his vision for the festival, which he says features the best Australian musicians available. Melbourne’s Stonnington Jazz Festival gets another go in 2007, again with Wangaratta Festival of Jazz director Adrian Jackson at the helm. Australian groups Void (Perth) and etypejazz (Adelaide) recently performed in America as part of the Government’s promotional program, G’Day Australia. Both bands were well received and even managed to separately get on television. No mean feat given the limited opportunities for such coverage at home. The jazz community is saddened by the recent deaths of John Speight, Vince Genova and Gary Costello. John was best known as the stalwart who guided the Manly Jazz Festival over many years but he was also active in less prominent – though no less important - roles as a jazz educator. The 20th Thredbo Jazz Festival in May is dedicated to his memory. New York-born Vince, who had been taught piano by Oscar Peterson, worked with a range of leading Australian musicians, including Don Burrows and Johnny Nicol. Burrows said, "Vince did a lot for jazz piano in Australia, both through his playing and the various posts he held”. Gary was one of the country’s most highly regarded bassists and a key contributor to some of our most important ensembles, including the Australian Art Orchestra and the Paul Grabowsky Trio Best wishes Peter Jordan Editor editor@jazz.org.au NEW RELEASES www.jazz.org.au//features/114

I wanted to take a month of because of my heavy gig schedule over the last 24 hrs, but, as it turns out, I've gone to the dark side, don't tell anyone though, it'll spoil my reputation. I hope Dadon doesn't find out either, he'll axe me for sure.
Hey Cartman, maybe Dadon is your Dad dude. He has Dad in his name. Kinda like HoWARd, it means something man.
I've got rong in my name, perfect!
