I've said it before, but recent enforced encounters oblige me to say it again.
There are two home-grown items that are wildly overrated by Australians.
They are: Tim-Tams and Michael Leunig.
The former a fucking ordinary chocolate biscuit. The latter a faux-whimsical vacuous windbag.
As far as that which Australians wildly underrate: let's say just about anybody here.

Fuck yeah... I reckon John Clare is spot on about Scott's album it's a really important document of a seriously heavy artist. The review itself is also really good. Love the way Clare takes a risk and tries to actually give his readers some insight into what the listening experience is like for him. And I agree he does miss at times but not in this review. He doesn't hide behind pompous technical waffle, and he doesn't hide behind florid adjectives - he goes for it. Just love this para: "Tinkler creates an uncanny one-man duet. The partly open notes at first mewl and croon like an aroused cat. Soon the muted lines begin to race and into these the open notes are inserted so deftly and improbably that it is almost impossible to believe there are no overdubs. There are not. It is aural sleight of hand." And I'll take the bait with regard to Michael Leunig: Mark you just wouldn't understand; you're from Sydney!

In this context, what's the difference between faux-whimsical and whimsical?

You can't expect me to concentrate on answering that while you keep sticking your tongue out and pulling it back in over and over again in a steady rhythm.

In this context, what's the difference between faux-whimsical and whimsical? 1. Spelling 2. Pronunciation
