I will!
I wasn't there, but ironguts, did you guys really improvise for the whole set? I find that hard to believe? Aren't there usually a few tunes weaved in there?

Well I did, and Ken. Marc played solo for a while and he played around one of the tunes off his album but that was it. Pretty outrageous of us to actually improvise the whole time on a Jazz performance in Sydney I know, but we are risk takers,,,,
What does surprise me is that John Shand is of the attitude that Marc was pushed from the foreground by Ken and I. Did he want Marc to be the Jazz hero and feature only himself? Does he think he's not up to keeping with Ken and I ( wrong! listen to his album). Does he think Ken and I pushed him out of the way with too aggressive playing? ( on this point we were quite restrained on this gig, Ken didn't like the Drums much so played mostly cymbals and I tried to be conscious that it was Marc- thing without being soft!)).
One of Marc's great skills is that he allows others in the band to have their say with plenty of space, this may appear that he's been 'pushed' out of the way, but it's not so, he's actually listening with his ears not his fingers.
Anyhow, congratulations to Kristen, she is a great talent much deserving of the prize and I'm sure she will do great things with the assistance of the Freedman money. Go Girl!!!! x x x

If you were improvising then its clearly not Jazz. I doubt you guys even know which chord scale theory to use...
