What a waste of Tax payers money! All he does is play into a bucket of water and make silly noises! Unbelievable!!! He'll probably just do lots of practice, write heaps of weird music and spend time trying to advance his profile overseas. What good does that do me I ask you? Art??? More money for sport I reckon. Shane Warne should get a fellowship, the poor fella doesn't have a job now. Tinkler, he's rich.
P.S Tinky told me he's really looking forward to the next 2 years and he's actually over the moon and looking forward to the chance afforded to him by the Aus-Co to explore and develop his ideas. Yay!!!!!!

Hi all, Scott Tinkler here. Ironguts has graciously allowed me to use it's user name to let you know some details of my fellowship.
The guidelines are as follows; To develop and apply advanced and prepared trumpet techniques for use in performance.
I'm very excited to receive this fellowship and it comes at a time when my financial situation is somewhat dire ( as is typical with most improvising artists) but when my energy and interest is very high indeed.
As part of the fellowship I will be performing in Europe around May of next year and also in NY in Sept 08. I will also be composing an extended piece featuring these advanced and prepared trumpet techniques for performance with the AAO, hopefully premiering at Wang 09. I'll also be doing a DVD of my Solo Trumpet works for the Extreme label.
I'm sure I'll be hooking in for more local performances as things develop so will keep you all posted.
I got too say that I'm honored to get this fellowship and will certainly be making the most of the opportunity this gives me to further explore my musical direction! Let the shedding begin!
And no, I won't spend it on golf clubs,,, well not a set of Pings anyhow!

Awesome work, well done!!!! Look forward to hearing your output over the next few years...I know people like to throw many insults around on this forum (!) but in all seriousness Scott is a very inspirational trumpet player to be around .There really aren't many that have the technique of the instrument together at his level. I look forward to picking his brains!!!
