Stonnington Jazz is back for 2008 and it’s set to be the best ever with an outstanding line up of Australian Jazz artists set to thrill audiences from 15 – 24 May 2008.
With a total of 12 concerts with performances over ten days, the festival will feature some of Australia’s most celebrated jazz talents including Vince Jones, Katie Noonan, Joe Chindamo and more. It will showcase some of the country’s best-known Jazz musicians together with some exciting emerging talents.
Now in its third year Stonnington Jazz has fast become one of the most anticipated events on the Australian music calendar with its focus on 100% Australian talent.
This year, concerts will again be held at the Malvern Town Hall and Chapel Off Chapel in Prahran, both of which will be transformed into intimate Jazz club settings for the duration of the festival.
Adrian Jackson, Creative Director of Stonnington Jazz, said the festival is an excellent chance for audiences to enjoy the work of some of the biggest names and best emerging talents in Australian Jazz.
“This year, well known names like Joe Chindamo, Vince Jones, Katie Noonan, Don Burrows, Bernie McGann, Bob Sedergreen, Allan Browne, Margret RoadKnight and Mark Isaacs, are joined by the outstanding talents of artists including Jamie Oehlers, Jex Saarelaht, Gianni Marinucci and Colin Hopkins, Tim Stevens, Aaron Flower and Julien Wilson,” says Mr Jackson.
“Together, they provide a varied and exciting program which encompasses everything from classic blues and swinging mainstream artistry to strikingly original contemporary jazz.”
