That sounds about right- $11 for the privilege.
well my whinge for the day is that my dreams of one day growing up and being the General Manager of the Melb Jazz Fest are over. Apparently at the ripe old age of 24 i'm already too old and over qualified for the position.

Wow, paying to apply for a place in a festival, now that's a new one. I don't think I've heard of that before. Totally fucked up.

I am a great advocate for festivals (surprisingly enough), but surely Government funding organisations (Federal, Sate and Local) need to start looking at the terms and conditions provided for performers as part of the criteria in the decision-making process for funding.

Now there's an idea, considering the Artists, it'll never catch on.
Actually I must say when I last played at the Valley Fest it was all cool, good fee well looked after etc. Andrew Shaw did a great job and it ran smoothly. It's just a shame to see it go this way, it would seem they may not have got the funding needed for the next one? Tis a damn shame.
