Does anyone know what is happening with the National Jazz program? I saw in the co-op news that Joanne Kee is the officer and that OzCo is funding it for a bit. Joanne does sound travellers right? What is the general plan/aim? I read the permanant underground but it I'm still not sure. I'm just curious really.

Hey Erin, Still got ya Wang program? There's an ad in it which details the aims of the National Jazz Alliance. 1. To produce a national plan, to include strengthening jazz and improvised music infrastructure, career sustainability for artists and audience development strategies. 2. To compile a national directory including existing services, venues, infrastructure and support available in Australia. This is a working committee, we want to hear your opinions and about how you want to be involved. www.nationaljazzalliance.com.auYep, Joanne is the contact. National directory? Whatever happened to the one on jazz.org.au? I can't log in to my artist profile at all anymore and the festivals page is totally out of date.

I don't like the name 'Jazz City' either, but the idea of one is certainly worthy of debate.

on what grounds exactly does it qualify for debate?
