Scrote has a broken wrist and an interesting way of holding his trumpet. Phil Stack won bass comp. Dancing award goes to Carlo. Best gig - MULLER AND SCOFIELD! Closely followed by the Antripodean Collective. An attempt at revisiting the Wangaratta vocalise choir didn't quite get there... Killer Joe was perhaps not the best choice of tune. I had fun though!!

Can't remember who it was, someone told me they missed the first Sco-Lo gig because they took 2 hours to eat at the Indian restaurant. If you're going somewhere to eat on a tight schedule, the second-last place you'd go is an Indian restaurant. (The last is an Indian restaurant in a country town).

That was me AJ, but it was the Choulai Sextet gig. It actually took 2 hours to get the food. All their staff were over on Reid street at their stall. But really fantastic eats, I recommend it heartily. Usually good service too, just not that night.

Gid - David Murray played two totally excellent sets but most I spoke to said they found him too intense, I thought he was so much fun and brilliant in the true sense of the word. After that there was so many great sets that are hard to rank but Aaron Choulai Sext. was magnificent and Jim McNeely with the Spare Parts was extra special too. Lost and Found was even better than last time I heard them. Anyway look at the program ... you KNOW who was good Mr. B.
The funniest thing for me was watching one of the media asleep in the front row for a few performances. Might be good idea to for the festival to provide pillows and rugs next year.
There is also a story about someone collecting jazz DNA but that needs to be told over dinner when you get back.

Carlo dancing?? He fell over the pissed git! The belly dancing was good though.
Best gig? Muller did tear it up with Sco, that boy has some unbelievable chops. Rex with Grabba,,,, wow, real amazing playing and his Solo was fucking outrageous!!!!!! Nicely capped off to with a few swigs from his Vodka bottle.
Carn Stackie!!! Always loved Phils'''' playing, heaps of ideas and a tough approach.
Jam? Sam Bates kicking arse on the last night. Oehlers played the shit out of a Trane tune along with Azza/Carlo/Zac, plenty of sad pissed shit too, which is always great fun.
John Shand'''''''''''''''s book a good read too, interested to hear peoples reactions to that? Well done JS.

Isn't there a condition called apostrophia? It's when one's mind becomes apostrophic. The only cure is to read books by John Shand and heckle regularly... On the other hand - this could also be associated with Post - Wangxiousness where only three out of ten people survive. I'm suffering from from a case of wangsignificance - or hangfever as it''''''s commonly known.
