Hi folks,
*******SOUND LOUNGE SHOW FRIDAY 17TH JULY
The catholics invite you to the Sound Lounge, on Friday 17th July, for our first Sydney show in 5 months.
Since our February SIMA show, leader Lloyd Swanton has been touring Europe with The Necks and playing at the Sydney Opera House with Brian Eno, while everyone else has been busy with their own projects too.
For this show we'll be focussing on the band's recent repertoire (we did a count-up the other day and realised our book now extends to 60 tunes over its history) and premiering a couple of brand new ones. Not standing still, we catholics.
Along with the usual company of Lloyd on bass, Sandy Evans (saxophones), James Greening (trombone and pocket trumpet), Jonathan Pease (guitar), Bruce Reid (slide guitars) and Fabian Hevia (percussion), we're happy to have back on board the wonderful Toby Hall on drums.
Do book now, because our Sound Lounge shows sell out every time.
Friday 17th July 8.30 -11.00pm
The Sound Lounge, Seymour Centre
cnr City Rd and Cleveland St
$20, $15 SIMA members. Tix from Seymour Theatre Box Office 9351 7940 Tables/seats are now allocated on a first come basis for each performance, so to guarantee entry, book now!
********LIVE ALBUM INTER VIVOS COMING SOON
We're close to finalising our eighth release and first-ever live album, Inter Vivos. Beautifully recorded by Ross A'hern over two memorable nights at the Sound Lounge last year, this double album captures The catholics in full flight. There are some amazing performances on these tapes.
Inter Vivos will be released later this year (probably late September-early October if you really must know) on Bugle Records through Shock, and will be available, like all The catholics' albums, at www.buglerecords.com or digitally.
