Never mind, the best was aj's brilliant word play.
Who would have noticed that google consists of go + ogle?
And isn't that what we do with Google? We go ogle things!

Is this a forum or a competition?
Please forgive my momentary lapse in sanity! How could I have been so sloppy? Mea culpa!
I pledge that from this day dear lovely gentlemen, that next time I receive some useful information to pass on to jazz musicians and the people who work in the community, I'll ensure my post is approved by Tim Stevens first.

alrite u win lets destroy th lang c u l8r I feel dirty. Tis it our fast intent to negate the past 500 years of transformation upon our language? Or do I see before me a pompous ass where nature doth with merit challenge? Mend your speech a little lest you mar your fortunes, dudes.

Thanks Vicki for turning me on to this site. Gotta say that this New York boy is having a Blast in Melbourne and, I am REAL KEEN on learning as much as possible about the Jazz scene here on this continent. I am known widely in New York's Jazz circles because, while working at WBAI Radio, I would often profile new and exciting individuals, and groups, in the Jazz scene on that station's daily News Program. That's what I do. I am a general assignment news reporter and producer. However, I was a disk jockey and talk show host years ago in several U.S. cities and, in 2008, got to see UP CLOSE the Melbourne International Jazz Festival. With that, I was sending stories out about it, and the local scene, to the folks back home in NYC. The response was excellent and, believe it or not, there is great interest about the Australian Jazz scene in the Big Apple. My interest are wide when it comes to Jazz music. Where do I start? Brazilian Jazz, African Jazz, Latin American Sounds, the New York scene, so-called World Beat, Spanish Nuevo Flamenco, Japan's scene, the French scene, the Caribbean and, Scandinavia (where I lived for some time and, where I know, personally, the folks doing interesting things in that part of the world.... Folks like Trumpeter, Palle Mikkelborg, Guitarist, Thomas Arnesen, The Koppell Family in Denmark and, the late Swedish Jazz vocalist, Monica Zettlerlund, to name a few.) At the same time, my ears are open and, I have to say, that there are some BAAD-Assed groups, singers, composers and, fantastic musicians right here in Australia, as well. On that score, I am saying to the folks here, reading this..... hook me up with some of that music and, the people making it. What I am trying to do on that short, two-hour weekly program is, squeeze-in all sounds and influences on the music from a global perspective and, to talk about it intelligently, make it interesting and accessible to the un-initiated, rather than doing the job of a 'presenter.' I am NOT a Phil Schaap, who is a walking encyclopedia of Jazz and, who does the program BYRD FLIGHT, on Columbia University's WKCR Radio during the week. (If you don't know who this cat is, check him out locally, Mon through Friday, at 10:20 pm on WKCR dot ORG.) But, I do know a lot about Jazz and a lot of the folks back home and, much of the ever changing scene in New York. Finally, for those of you 'in the know,' historically, I am NOT among those in the Wynton Marsalis school of thought, the so-called 'moldy fig' folks, who believe that Jazz is a static thing. That Jazz begins and Ends with the Great Duke Ellington. It is NOT and, it is ever changing and evolving. But, that is another story, as well. Anyway, hit me back. Do tune me in on Sunday nights on JOY Radio at 7 pm (for the next three months, at least,) and, turn me on to what you're doing and up to. I wanna know about upcoming concerts, performances, CDs, DVDs and the like.... where ever they are taking place in Australia. On this, I am serious. I will be poking my head in here on Oz Jazz Forum from time-to-time, to see just what is up with you all. Thanks for taking the time to read this. And please keep me posted. All the best to you all! Warm Regards, -Eric
