From the MJC, including instructions for pre-bidding. I've called it An Evening of Solo Jazz Piano to signal I won't be playing originals or doing free improvisations. It's in essence a "standards" program, except that some of the song choices may not be that obvious.

Hosted by ABC Radio's Gerry Koster (host of Jazz Up Late), there will be fantastic music, prizes and a silent auction, so come along and show your support for the MJC!

“A composer and musician utterly unencumbered by boundaries who has a breathtaking aptitude for making feeling and experience audible”- AUSTRALIAN STAGE ONLINE
Acclaimed Sydney-based pianist/composer Mark Isaacs’ association with the MJC dates back to January 1983, when his Trio was featured in the MJC’s first presentation at Bennetts Lane Jazz Club. Since then he has been a regular performer for the MJC, in various formats ranging from his quintet and trios to solo. Isaacs’ solo work has been a constant and on-going thread in his career since he first began solo concerts around 1980, and was documented on the 1995 groundbreaking 4-CD set, The Elements (on ABC). He has performed solo improvised music concerts extensively around the world over the past two decades, and this promises to be a special evening in the intimate atmosphere of Bennetts Lane’s smaller original room.

The Melbourne Jazz Co-op
The MJC has been a constant and integral part of the Melbourne jazz scene since January 1983. We present a diverse range of contemporary jazz styles from local and interstate artists who are innovative and original. We have remained relevant by introducing and nurturing a continuous line of emerging artists, as well as maintaining our support of more established artists. The MJC also enables the presentation of large ensembles and special projects, including interstate and international collaborations, through it's financial support. Currently, we present three gigs a week at the Paris Cat and Bennetts Lane.
