The Half Bent Winter Music Festival is one day in the life of Australia’s most creative music scene.
Following on from the success of the Half Bent Winter Music Festivals in 2002/2003, the Half Bent team will present a musical smorgasbord of Melbourne's finest creative music and improvisers. This event will involve more than 50 performers in over 12 groups performing original music, literally ranging from the ridiculous to the sublime. This year, Melbourne's Make It Up Club have been invited to join in on the fun and program a Solo Duo Trio set.
Half Bent is proud to present it's first commissioned work by Canberra pianist/composer Marc Hannaford, which will be performed by a septet incl. Ronny Ferella, Shannon Barnett, Gideon Brazil & led by Marc at the Piano.
Established Melbourne artists such as Ren Walters, Julien Wilson, Stephen Grant, Tim O'Dwyer (last show before moving OS), Geoff Hughes, Adrian Sherriff, David Tolley, Stephen Magnusson and many more will be collaborating with some of the emerging stars of tomorrow.
Special interstate guest this year will be Sydney guitarist Carl Dewhurst who will team up with long time colleague Scott Tinkler for two shows.
Get Half Bent at least once a year and join us at the Trades Hall, Carlton on Sunday 29th August 2004 from 3pm until late!!
