MIJF History from 1998 to 2010

Hi everyone,

I have been researching the MIJF for the last couple of weeks and I have found it very difficuelt to find data on the history of the MIJF in particularly in between 1998 and 2002.

Does anyone know who was on the board at that time, and who was appointed as artistic director and general manager?

I would appreciate every little bit of information on this issue.

Try Jazzchord 39 (Summer 1997-8), p. 6. There was also the 'Marvellous Melbourne' jazz festival a year before that, which sort of took over from the Montsalvat Jazz Festival, as I recall. Adrian Jackson was artistic director of the MIJF (not the Marvellous Melbourne version), and obviously he will know more than I do.

2002 MIJF was canceled, so Bennetts ran it's own one that year (at least we called it a festival)
www.bennettslane.com/jazzfest/ has a list of who played and dates they played on. The reason we called it a festival is we did joint marketing with a bunch of other venues and it was cross-promoted between them as one to the public.

prior to that I believe Adrian Jackson was the AD for the festival, so best bet is to speak to him.
