This one one of the first hard core jazz recordings to grab me. My father had it in his collection and I must have been checking it out at 13 or 14.
Paul Desmond is just amazing. I remember Roger Frampton - not long before he passed away - reminding me that Desmond is the man. Time to take heed again.
And how absolutely juiced with palpable enthusiasm that 1953 college audience is!
