I'm sure most of you already know about www.jazz.org.au but just in case. This is the "official" free jazz resource for all Australian artists, promoters, industry people and punters. i.e. it is funded by the Oz Council for the next three years The system is simple to use. If you can send an email you can use this site. The navigation is ok - so far, haven't realy tested it at length yet. the design is groovy enough to annoy me, but looks cool. The proof will be in the pudding which can happen as many in the jazz community as possible use it, so please go ahead and help promote Australian jazz by logging on and signing up. And please do tell your friends. The plan is to make it as good as it can get i.e. there is nothing stopping it becoming the number one e-reference tool for all Australian jazz info. So next step is to log on to www.jazz.org.au and fill in your profile. Interested to know what other OJFers think too.

I would second that Vicki. Musicians should join and submit their profile, if you already have a bio on your computer you can just cut and paste it into the appropriate box. If you have a photo on your computer browse to it and the site will upload it directly from your computer. Provide your contact details and website if you have one and it's all up and running in seconds. Some of the parameters don't seem to be required which is nice - I chose not to publish my street address and to not tick boxes to categorise the style of my music and the system was fine with that, just left those parameters out of the end result. Gig submission seems to have some teething problems, it asked me to join when I had already joined and was actually logged in. Sure they'll sort that out. This is an important resource and hopefully the community will support it.
