I think we may have started this discussion on the previous board BUT are jazz CDS too long. A lot are now recorded using the maximum 72 minutes, I don't always want to hear the whole cd, in fact I'll often skip tracks. Albums used to be about 50 minutes on average so why do we have an extra twenty minutes? Is it necessary? Are there a lot of tracks that should have stayed unreleased?

I think they can go on a bit actually I rekon I think nowdays most of em are tooooo bleedin long so yeah edit - cut- chop it out - that solo was too long - loose that intro - forget that second take man - know what i mean?

I have been pondering this question and I think the answer is in the affirmative yesiree stuff recorded after the CD revolution can sometimes be too much of a good thing but then what about DVDs?
