he only did that so he time to check out who was watching him, besides its iresponsible to stop playing when youre a drummer, how would the horn player know where the 1 is? seriously though, fuck off. Here's a question for you Johnny, is there any advantage in Australian musicians becoming American musicians? Are you better if you make it in NYC? One final one, who cares? BTW, youv'e been staying up too late.

personally ironguts, I find it easier to find the 1 if theres no drummer in the band at all. I have this theory (just between you and me) that so called "septuplets" and "quintuplets" and "metric modulations" etc. etc. are really just drummers hitting as much stuff as they can so that they have half a chance of (cooincidently) hitting the 1. ;D
and, as to Australians moving to America: yes... I think that any australian skilled enough to put up with american conversations, american food, american beer, american politics and american music deserves all the respect they can get.
also, yes: I have been staying up too late. Rule for living #57 : Don't get drunk and post on ozjazzforum.
PS. Rule #55 was: Don't try and use lines on girls. and Rule #56: If your thinking about it for a week before you say it, then it's definately a line.
it's been quite an embarrassing week.

all excellent answers there Johnny. Lets not forget rule #58 though; do anything to get your end in. and the thing with drummers is that if they play too much too loud then wherever they puy the 1 is where it has to be. BTW, I'm surprised you can be embarrassed, thought that was impossible!

no... not impossible, but often I simply forget what I did that I'm supposed to be embarrassed about. Y'know, sometimes a good memory is an unforgivable sin.
luckily, mine is awful.
PS. can someone confirm that embarrassing really has two r's and two s's? it certainly doesn't look right to me, but the english language is a strange beast.

As for one Aussie OS, I will actually be in Melbourne from March 1-14. I will be playing on a couple of gigs, but I think I will post that elsewhere.
And if 'Johhnymastropaulos' is lucky he might here "... this thing where he'd built up to a mini-climax, break on 4, then 2 (or on special occasions 4) bars of nothing but hi-hat, then KA_BOOM!!!!!!!!!: one gigantic bomb on four."
Then again maybe not,.
