Gid, nah not my style. Although hopefully I'll be in the mosh pit. I wouldn't want to humiliate myself when set against the high standard set by Messrs Jackson x 2, McLeod, Tortoni etc.

Half Bent Tsunami Benefit Thursday 13th January 05 @ Pony, Melbourne www.pony.net.auOn Thursday 13th January, the Half Bent crew plays their second benefit in a fortnight for tsunami victims at CBD venue Pony, with all proceeds going to Oxfam's Tsunami Emergency Appeal. Organiser, Gideon Brazil, created Half Bent to showcase the experimental and improvised music of some of Melbourne's finest musicians, and has been deeply moved by the scale of the devastation across Asia. "Musicians generally don't have a lot of money to donate, so we're using the talents we have to help out. The tsunami benefit show we held last week raised $500 for Oxfam, and we chose Oxfam because they're a secular not-for-profit organisation that has done amazing work with devastated communities throughout Africa and Asia." Headlining the benefit is keyboardist Aaron Choulai's ensemble, Vada (11.30pm), who play folk forms such as tango, waltz and klezmer re-harmonised with unusual textures and plenty of fireworks via hip hop, dub and freer styles. Supporting is Gideon's own group, The Gigantics (9:30pm) giving some rock & groove favourites new life, and Jo Schornikow's four-piece, Tetris (10.30pm). WHEN: Thurs 13th Jan - 9:30pm start WHERE: Pony - 68 Ltl Collins St, City HOW MUCH: $5 conc / $8 full - donations are also greatly appreciated WHO's PLAYING: Vada, The Gigantics & Tetris ms. sam wareing publicity / pony & bar open e. mssam@baropen.com.au w. www.pony.net.au / www.baropen.com.aum. 0404 138 359

Not quite as successful as our other benefit - which had NO advertising or lead time - weird!
THANK YOU to those that came and supported.
We raised another $344.
Hope to see you all every Wednesday @ The Old Bar. Cheers
