Mel Torme -- this guy is just the shit...I freaking love him. Bloodest Saxophone - Japanese noise jazz...It's traumatic in a good way! Snag - my old, old favourite Jim Hall - Saw him at Blue Note here in Osaka, he was doing some really lovely sparse stuff with pianist Jeff Keezer Atsuko Hashimoto - kick ass organ player - tiny lady with enormous sound. Stacks of Koto and Shamisen music, including the endless droning of my hubby on his dog-skin shamisen...sigh...
