OK, I happily admit to showing my age by holding to a definition of pop that has aesthetic/generic qualifications that go way beyond the merely popular. Jangly guitars are almost always part of the picture for me (but not always):
1. Lovin' Spoonful - Do You Believe In Magic? Yes!
2. Dwight Twilley Band - Looking For The Magic. Always!
3. The Raspberries - Overnight Sensation.
4. Cheap Trick - Surrender.
5. Bobby Fuller Four - Never To Be Forgotten.
6. Katrina And The Waves - Walking On Sunshine.
7. Big Star - September Gurls.
8. The Church - Unguarded Moment.
9. The Plimsoulls - A Million Miles Away
10. Bob Seger - Brave Strangers. Same lyrical sentiments as Night Moves but a cooler, rockier tune.

geez pop is such an age determined thing, aint it? I hardly know any of those, kenny, although I have to agree with Walking on Sunshine, to which i am forced to add Love Is In The Air (John Paul Young) sorry no jangly guitars but one of the finest arrangements outside of Phil Spector

geez pop is such an age determined thing, aint it? That's OK - I go back as far Bing Crosby, too, so no need to feel like an old geezer, happy!

Never been a Spector fan - EXCEPT for the immortal Black Pearl by Sonny Charles & The Checkmates, Ltd.
