Hi - i am thinking of trying to get Jerry Bergonzi out to play and do workshops - he wants to bring his band - do you think that Jerry is held in high esteem by jazz musicians - and do you think this would create interest throughout Australia?

Jerry Bergonzi's texts regarding improvisation are a wealth of information, his presence in Melbourne might stimulate a few musicians with the intent to understand everything about melodic and atonal line construction, but bringing him out, not a necessity. We already have the greatest saxophone players in the world, in my biased, chops, opinion, jazz is the Waaaaaagh, i won't i won't i won't.
