You know you are on the road, again when...
The bedspread in your room matches your curtains and is some kind of horrid pattern that doesn't show stains.
When the local TV news anchors are unfamiliar.
When you try, stuipdly, to order a healthy meal from the bar and grill in the hotel and you end up with disgusting greasy fish cooked in rancid butter, a salad covered in some weird dressing that resembles brown sludge, and the bruschetta you ordered is store bought pesto smeared on pre-frozen cheap garlic brad (bleauch).
You go to bed and wonder how many people have slept in the bed you are in, and what they did in it, and then you start feeling sick.
There is a phone next to the toilet in your bathroom.
The minibar fridge/ young tourists in the next room/ keeps you awake.
You get bored and write nonsense to post on Ozjazzforum to keep you amused.
You wish you were home.

You're staying in Lygon St?

hey Vicki, so your in Sydney I'll bet the weathers reminding you of home, not often the two OZZJAZZ FORUM Vickis are in the same state. If you have time why not drive 1.5 hrs down the Princes hwy to Kiama where it is sunny and 25 degrees all the time. John & Vicki

hey Weir I love your Grateful Dead type image You can call me Kenny. Actually, I had a bit of breakthrough this morning with Bennie. I was playing some live Dead stuff - limbering up for the soon-come arrival of my new 5-disc set - and we were BOTH digging the hell out of Not Fade Away/Going Down The Road, Bertha, Playing In The Band. It probably sounded suspiciously jazzy for Bennie, but then it was also identifiably rock 'n' roll as well. It probably helped that we were doing the Living Room Watusi with a window-rattling SpinalTapesque 11 in the volume department.
