Hi, thought I'd join the group as a way of hearing about what's going on around the country & as a way of informing others of our Festival.
I'm now the Coordinator of the Festival, having taken over last year from its originators. We've had seven annual Festivals, now happening on the first (full) weekend in August. This year that will be 6-8th August.
Palmer St, in Townsville, has a number of restaurants & hotels & these are the venues for most of the music. Whilst we try to have a broad range of jazz styles, the main focus is modern. There is also a focus on bringing younger, emerging musicians from south, especially for them to interact with students in high school bands.
