Well sort of. Live 8 has come out of Make Poverty History which was set up by a consortium of aid agencies following on from the successful Make Trade Fair and Drop the Debt camapaigns. You will see lots of famous people clicking their fingers in the advert for MPH, wearing white wrist bands. The global launch of the Make Trade Fair campaign which is still going, was in Sydney, Australia. Who were the first celebs to attend a Make Trade Fair gig and wear the logo's now sported by members Coldplay, REM, U2 etc? IshIsh. Jazz people are always the first to do the right thing. So when you hear about millions of people watching Live 8 just know it was kicked off by Jazz people! And please wear a white ribbon or band around your wrist in July 1st in support of Make Poverty History. It's not about raising money, you don't have to buy anything, you don't have to make a donation. It's about lobbying. The best thing you can do is visibly support the campaign. In fact you don't even have to sit through Live 8! www.makepovertyhistory.com.auIf you choose to take part, thanks in advance for your support! Any musicians who want white arms bands who are prepared to wear them at gigs in Melbourne please email me at vickih@oxfam.org.au, you can pick them up from me at Oxfam in Fitzroy. You can but them in Oxfam shops too, but just wearing a white ribbon is good enough.

Ish Ish played appollo bay and lebowski's with a different line up (Ronny called them the PM's XI), but as far as I know the original lineup remains the 'official' band. (no need to panic JW)
