Thank you Adrian! We live for those days in Wangaratta. Finally being able to read the programme is like Christmas morning here at Westbury Groove, East St Kilda. But wait..who is this Mark Isaacs guy?
Hey, is it true you are already booking artists for 2006?

Once again, an excellent lineup, always enjoy seeing Barney, seems to be the only time us 'north of the border' types get to hear him is at Wang. Looking forward to Oliver Lake with Pheeroan Ak Laff and Baikida Carroll, have enjoyed the trumpeters work for awhile now. The New York Jazz Collective idea is great, love to hear our guys with the overseas players and Wang has provided some good ones so far. What's everyones thoughts on the new idea this year with the advanced bookings for seats, $10 even with a weekend pass. Will it be all venues and does that mean all seats are numbered as with the Monday night concert. Will those that prebook a seat get in via the backdoor or just lineup with everyone else. Really looking forward to Wang this year, congrats to all involved.

It's a bit of a trial for this year, let's see how it works.
The idea is those who have a reserved seat don't have to queue up to make sure they get in. They enter by a separate door ; they sit in a reserved seating section (not a specific numbered seat). They have to be there by 5 mins before the advertised starting time, or else the reserved section is open to any other ticket holders to sit there.
It's only available for shows in the Town Hall, and seats have to be booked at least a week prior to the event.
I'd be interested in feedback from any other punters.

sounds like a good idea to me, it's a pain when there's a concert you really want to see and not being able to get a good spot, i don't mind paying 10 bucks. i'll be doing that for a couple of them. and it's so great that bakida carroll is coming with oliver lake i can't wait to check it out. great work once again aj.

For me this is a hard one. I spend ages going through the Wang programme marking out 'must hears' well in advance and then when I'm there I change my mind a lot depending on info gained from pals or just what mood am I in that day. So for me, I don't think this will work. I would pay for a Gold pass that would guarantee me a seat in the Town Hall no matter what, that way I wouldn't have to worry about booking in advance. and Wang would still get the money which the festival deserves and needs.
