Hi.
Just posting at Brisbane airport on my way home from the Festival. All the concerts sold out so there will be more festivals. I'll leave it to any who attended to post about the music.

Hey Able or Inadequate, I think you were replying to me re who make a living playing music. Well I guess you may have had a couple right but not many.
Lloyd Swanton- You may be right with Lioyd, he is in one of the most successful improvising groups in the country, and a very good group too. He probably still teaches and composes to make ends meet, not sure.
Joe Camilleri- Wrong area altogether, plenty of pop people make money, not really relevent here I think.
Nina Ferro- I'm sure Nina has other income than live music.
James Morrison- Ok, I'll be in trouble, but he is an entertainer, hardly what I call music.
Joe Chindamo- I doubt Joes sole income is from live music, he'd need to fill us in. I know he got a fellowship and that helps.
Gary Costello- Gary works his arse off teaching 5 days a week, something he wouldn't do if he had an income from being a live muso.
PS, I'm not complaining, simply a reality check.
PSS, hey no el, its absolutley bizzare to Put Fiona Burnett next to Frank Sinatra on a list of people making a living from live music.

The question was who makes a living from music not who makes a living from live music. Youre transparent in your hostility towards certain musicians Tinkler why is that? Your music is so awesome but from what youve writen on this site so far i cant see where that music comes from |

No, the question was "who makes a living from playing music?", that was stated twice.
Interesting that you find me transperent. I certainly have nothing to hide in what I like or dislike, maybe being honest confuses you but I find it easy to deal with. Must say thats how I try to play, honestly. Now thats a hard erea but I try remain true to my musical ideals no matter what the circumstance.
I'd also be interested to know who you think I was being hostile toward on the post you replied to. I think there was no hostility simply my ideas of the situation.
The way I play has been interpreted as hostile, so maybe its just my nature.
Another thing, I'm glad you like my music, but, there are plenty of people who make great music who are complete arsehole's, not saying I'm one, but not everyone is liked by all.
