Today's Age has a Year In Review liftout, with a piece by Arts Editor, Ray Gill.
"The jazz and classical music scenes of the city marked time and fulfilled their charters without controversy or incident."
Discuss.

You mean he hasn't heard that Lulu's back in town?
Besides, it's Kenny Weir's birthday. One wouldn't want to speak too soon.

I've been threatening to have a Sunday night bash at the Rainbow with PWHC throbbing away. We'll see. Y'all are invited anyway! ;D Nice to see The Age keeping it's finger on the pulse!

I sang you Happy Birthday for nothing Kenny. Being the iconoclast he is, Mr Weir entered Dec 12 1903 as his birthday when he joined Ozjazzforum. Happy 102nd Kenny.

that's fantastic- perhaps Mr Gill, who is no doubt happily ensconsed at the newspaper with a comfortable salary, would like to come and work in the music industry for a while, and see how many of us are 'marking time'!!!! Personally, I could use a bit of a rest and taking it easy, perhaps I'll get a job at a newspaper, I hear the hours are long but I'm sure the cash and job security is a lot better than where I'm sitting...perhaps we should stage a terrorist event at a jazz club so we can get some press attention
