I think you'll find Vijay Iyer was here a few years back - maybe 3 years. He came out for the MIJF with Rudresh Manthappa. It was great... Of course, we'd love to have him again!

Vijay's set in melbourne was lame. although Shaggaz assures me he is actually quite amazing. Maybe it was a case of him not bringing out his best band to old backwater oz.

Vijay Iyer & Rudresh Manthappa's gig wasn't lame. It wasn't really my thing at the time - but it definitely wasn't lame... I think they did 2 sets over 2 nights if I remember correctly - I saw a bit of both sets - very adventurous harmonic stuff - Manthappa's tone sort of did my head in though. Were you at both sets Mr Mastropaulos?
