Hello all,
I am wanting to include more examples of Australian jazz in the composition class I teach at the Queensland Conservatorium. If you would like to send me some of your best work in either hard copy, or on Sibelius (the only software I have access to) via email, I will try to include it in my lectures. Lead sheets are best, as opposed to full arrangements. Lecture topics include Riff-based tunes (blues and other forms); motivic development; through-composition, extended forms, contrafacts, bossa and latin jazz etc. If you could also include what CD it can be found on, that would be great. Addresses below.
Incidently, I continue to try to order Oz jazz CDs for the library, and they take FOREVER to get here. Of 30 or so I ordered last year at about this time, only about 3 ever arrived......... if you feel inclined to donate a copy of your work to the Con library it would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
