For the first time in like 20 years, pat metheny is touring Australia. YAY!...........but, logic has to part of this as the only city's he's playing is Adelaide and Perth! WTF? Nevermind the 3 biggest cities in the country, where the majority of australian fans will be, demographics??pffft...
Even if you're not a fan of his group stuff, this is his trio with Antonio Sanchez and Christian McBride.....grrrr
I can understand the usual Melbourne/Sydney duo, but Adelaide and Perth and nothing on the east coast?

Hey you can always travel west JJ! I heard on the grapevine that McBride was to record with Morrison last year in Sydney but for some reason it was postponed.

Hey, come on! Adelaide gets absolutely nothing in terms of jazz, I think it's about time! Unfortunately for me, it's just after I've moved to Melbourne. But I say, good on em! Besides, the Adelaide gig is part of the Adelaide Festival, one of the most highly regarded arts festivals in the country. I daresay it's sold out, and if it isn't, I'm sure it will be. People who attend the Adelaide festival come from all over the country, and other countries as well. I'm pretty sure the festival doesn't have much of a history of jazz acts, so I think it's great that jazz musicians of that calibur are being brought to the eager Adelaide audience. metheny is playing bangkok in a few weeks and singapore around the same time i think ... he's coming off the back of a south east asian trek ..
- fan of pat in whatever group or not, he plays in.
