Once i went to hear Roger at the Strawberry hills, he was playng with Bernie Mccgann...anyway, when I got there, he was comping behind Bernie and i noticed instantly that the piano was really badly out of tune. So I thought to myself, man , whats he going to do when he has to solo on that thing? So when it was his solo.... he turned around and played the solo with HIS ARSE! I kid you not my friends! TPG

I once was at a jazz festival on the gold coast (!) where Richie Cole was playing ; he went to the jam session, was nt in good shape (I'm being kind). Frampton was in the rhythm section.
Richie called 'The White Cliffs Of Dover'. Roger's turn to solo came, he played the melody, as straight as possible, as square as possible, I think it was maybe 8 times. Each time he did it, musos at the bar (Alder, McGann etc) were almost legless with laughter. Roger of course kept a straight face throughout.

surely Hopkins should tell that one Hopkins online? Don't hold your breath! Although he will probably enjoy that we are hoping he may be.
