After consultation with some eminent members of the Australian jazz community and on the 5th anniversary of this Forum I am establishing a Code of Conduct here.
This forum at this point is the only substantial one of its type representing Australian jazz. It turns up in international Google searches on Australian jazz.
Firstly - posts will need to be ON TOPIC or related to the topic. The topic is jazz. Anything related to jazz is admissible. This would include other musical forms, other artforms, social conditions that effect the music and the arts or indeed the forum itself. There must be some connection to jazz.
Secondly this Forum is hosted by ProBoards and they provide a Code of Conduct which I will apply as is. Everyone who is a member has already agreed to abide by it. Here it is to remind you:
You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of ANY law
As moderator I will judge what is on or off topic or what constitutes a violation of the Code of Conduct. No discussion will be entered into regarding any decision I take.
Less serious violations of the Code will result in deletions of offending posts and a warning. Repeated warnings will result in the banning of the member. Serious violations will result in immediate banning.
Best wishes
