Anna is my aunt, and I think she's a beautiful writer. Glad to know it's not bias. Well. Just for that, Im reading it again. I dont remember much.. just that it was beautifully worded.

Given the amount of vintage country music I'm listening to, and seeing a first-ever exploration of the "cowboy music" sub-genre coming in the near future, I thought it was time to tyake my reading habit to the far west.
There's not a lot around, except in 2nd hand shops, which I'm sure have some good stuff and a lot of crap. Anyway, I asked on the country thread at Jazz Corner, and was recommended A.B. Guthrie Jr's The Big Sky from 1947, which I bought last night and tumbled right into.
The person who tipped to it described it as midway 'tween Huck Finn and The Grapes Of Wrath.
