...go and see Brasileirinho. Amazingly beautiful music, killer pandeiro players, and an acrylic clarinet. Anyone who plays samba or bossa nova on gigs should at least know a little of choro.

Not sure exactly what it's made of. Kinda looked like perspex. Didn't sound too bad either.

Im very interested! Are you able to expand upon the sound at all? When you say perspex... does that mean it was see through? Pretty heavy if that is the case! Wowsers...

Yes it was see-through. Didn't seem very heavy - the guy held it as though it were a similar weight to a regular clarinet.

If it was perspex.. it should be slightly heavier. But it would be a bit of a sight... Ive been googling all day like crazy.. so keen to see what it looks like! It would be so very pretty Wonder how different the sound would be....

The tone wasn't that different. I guess if you were a clarinetist you might be a bit fussy, but to this drummer's ear it was fine. I suppose it was a little less woody in its tone.

I've checked up on it, and I'm pretty sure it is perspex.

Loads of instruments are being cast in perspex these days.. One of my GFs has a guitar from Japan that is perspex - very very heavy (compared to the usual guitar) but oh so sexshee I love staring at it - you can see all the cogs and electrics. One of my mates in Brisbane has an electric perspex violin too (from Hong Kong I thought he said). Its incredible and looks really amazing under different lights. I would love to see the perspex clari.. i really would. Actually.. Id love to see a perspex horn ;D
