AJ, sorry I had the wrong info. It's great pity those managers and/or yourself can't take over organising the MIJF again.

it lost its funding for one year then had another couple of years where it was building nicely under aj then albare managed to weasle his way in and as they say it's all history. happy to be corrected on this by anyone who knows more about the history of the fest. anyway back to the original question??? is there any way to get albare sacked?? who is he accountable to? that's more important than who would take over if albare was sacked. aj would be great i think especially with a bit of decent funding behind him but there are others who could do it: paul grabowsky maybe??

Agree that not having the festival cos of the Commonewealth games was the death knell of the festival. It is commonly understood by arts administrators that if you are runing a festival you HAVE to continue to run it every year or it will die.
There has never been any transparency or accountability wth the board of the MIJF. E.G. Try and find out about their governance or policies? Do they have any? As it receives public funding. i.e. my tax dollars, this pisses me off considerably.
I heard rumours that Dadon sunk a lot of his own dough into Umbria Melb the first year but as the fesitval is untransparent and unaccountable you don't know if it is just hype.
Paul Grabowsky, now that would be a really good use of his time, not! Let's see... work an 80 hour week and get paid for around 20 hours a week. I'm sure he has better ways to make a buck.

Mon Dieu! Quelle grande surprise ! Un choix inspiré de directeur artistique ! Je me demande qui a pris la décision ?. Je n'ai pas vu le travail annoncé, n'importe qui autrement ?

Why not indeed? An inspired choice by a man inspired. I love disasters so that's why "Freddy backs the Frog!"
