Hello there, I am a new individual to these parts...
I have a passing interest in Jazz that occurred quite surprisingly and was confirmed when I somehow found several jazz or jazz related cds in my CD collection...
I am a fan of John Zorn and related artists (Bill Frisell, Eyvind Kang), Miles Davis (naturally), Bohren & Der Club of Gore, Bob Belden and some other artists I have no doubt neglected to mention...
I'm seeking out a downbeat jazz-related haunt within the brisbane area...But generally, I just enjoy Jazz and am thus here to confer on said enjoyment with others...I also feel ill from eating a considerable amount of chocolate...
Hoorah...

Hi Absinthe, hoorah indeed! My own current illness involves champagne imbibed yesterday evening... It was good champagne... it had to have been. Normally I'm a red wine girl, but this stuff was so good I just could not resist!
Welcome, indeed to this little corner of cyber. Love your posts! We're a good bunch (you've probably already figured that out :-)) but if you have any questions that aren't being answered or need any assistance don't hesitate to get in touch...

I have noticed these are relatively friendly boards, however I feel I am somewhat of a newcomer to these facets of Jazz...Are there any Zorn fans here?

Welcome absinthe. Haven't seen any Zorn talk here before, though that doesn't mean it can't start now. Tell ya what, you'll probably find more Zorn fans at allaboutjazz.com. But by all means stick around, there's some great Aussie jazz to discover.

Yes, I'm actually not that huge of a Zorn fan (not to the point of obsession at any rate), he was just my introduction to the genre...One of my favourite Jazz recordings ever is Jarrett's Koln Concert, but I doubt that makes me unique amongst newcomers to Jazz lol
