Ha, as in Harvey? Yep, he was there when I was there, just over a week ago. He got playing every night of the week, too! Nice going Adelaide.

Ornette for Sydney ? Well they haven't announced their full program yet, but they have announced 2 concerts by Madeleine Peyroux.....................maybe they didn't catch her on the last tour.

maybe they didn't catch her on the last tour. Do you mean: if they had heard her before they wouldn't ask her back? As in: one wouldn't go through it twice? Her new album is being advertised with stencils on the pavement near the Queen Victoria Market.

Is she really that bad? I haven't really seen much of her live, but I did catch a few minutes of her Live at the Basement, though my TV was very fuzzy... she sounded alright, but didn't seem to know exactly what she was doing, i.e. form, when to come in, etc. I did enjoy quite a few of the tracks on her previous album.

Is she really that bad ? Yes. That's coming from someone who quite liked her last album ; nothing super-adventurous, but a bunch of good songs, tasteful arrangements and an agreeably laid-back vocal style. Onstage, she seemed distracted, to put it kindly, and sang more bum notes than a professional singer is entitled to get away with.
This was in Melbourne ; it's possible she did a killer show in Sydney, but I kinda doubt it.

Cold feet again. . on any decent act, it was all too hard for them and the record company and her management were probably so friendly and accommodating.
