hey i read that wang doz it all for $700,000 AUD. That is awesome, when you think how much melb Festival gets and most of it this year was zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz wangaratta is heaven on earth in comparison .......and MIF didnt even give the Necks a gig (sorry that was a tease I like the necks,,,,,,,, honest I do) but I think they should change their name to the Hecks, then the next CD could be "What the Heck....s"

hey i read that wang doz it all for $700,000 AUD. That is awesome I second that. In this day and age that's a piddling amount of money and the fact that Wang does all that it does on that amount - if it is true - is extraordinary.

In round figures, correct ; lots of volunteer hours required to make it work ! Actually, we got an increase in Arts Vic funding for 2007, announced last week, up from $40,000 to $70,000. Among other things, it will allow the Festival to appoint a full-time administrator next year ; the job should be advertised in November.............anyone brilliant looking for a job in festival management ?

Room booked, tickets purchased, bags packed (almost). The hardest part is selecting the music for the long drive (6 hrs). Arriving Thursday this year, so we can do a little relaxing & socalising before music starts.
See you there!

Yeah, bloody oath I'm going! Fingers crossed for good weather. I'm soooooo glad I only have a short drive this year, last year it took about 12 hours on the way there and 16 on the way back....
Go wang. Looking forward to everything, international & local. Particularly as I'm familiar with more of the players this year, and what wonderful players they are!

I think some aspects will be negotiable, but yes, it would be largely based in Wang, there would be an office there. Perhaps there would be some flexibility regarding how much time is spent in Wang at various times of the year ; but it hasn't been defined just yet.

The piano competition looks impressive this year with the 10 christians thrown to the lions and the 4 roman judges. Has to be the toughest comp so far. Whoever gets the thumbs up will be judged to be the best on the day? Should be enthralling.

Sorry to be an ignoramus - can somebody remind me who the Wang finalists are? I can't make it, but will be intrigued by the results. Who are the judges, btw?
