All,
As aj has mentioned, there is a service at 3pm on Friday 29th at Lilydale Memorial Park, 126 Victoria Road, Lilydale for this wonderful man. A wake will follow at Bennetts Lane Jazz Club from 6 pm (for some hours I would say) There will be a chance for all who worked with Gary to either play or say a few words or both. If there is something special you'd like to perform or you'd wish to help in some way, please contact me via private message so we can keep some structure to the evening so everyone gets a go. Maybe those culinary people could assist by bringing a plate, with food on of course. Please get the word around to those who new Gary. All the best to you all, Iron Guts.

I didn't know Gary really, but I had admired his playing for a long while... Unfortunately I'm going to be away for the service etc. I'll be sure to be thinking of him and you all then. Gx

I wish I could be there.
If someone plays Gary's beautiful composition l'etranger, that would be great. My thoughts will be with him, family and all of you at the service.
To Guts and all involved in the organising of the service and wake - thanks.

That sounds like a beautiful way to say goodbye Ironguts, wish I was not in Sydney!!! Perhaps we could have another 'memorial' gig of some kind later in the year to show our respects. Again, all my best wishes to his family, I have been thinking of gazza every day. As someone else mentioned he would make mundane gigs so much more fun, especially cause he played so well all the time.

I heard the service and wake were very beautiful. Well done to all those organising and contributing. Events run as well as that make it so much easier for those left behind to say goodbye. Be proud and stay strong.

I couldn't attend the wake, but the service was a very positive and moving celebration of Gary's life. I'm sure that Gary's family would have been touched by the number of people who there to pay their respects, and the sincere tributes paid by some of his friends (musicians and others).
