Either way, I predict chaos. Tim, do you think there is order here? Would you really want that? On another tangent vaguely linked to this thread... does www.jazz.org.au have a forum? If not it ought to, then more people might sign up to it, maybe this one could be added to that site and moderated by the editor. For anyone who doesn't already know: www.jazz.org.au is a kind of a Myspace for Australian jazz/improvising musicians, it's paid for by your taxes through the Australia Council. To join is free of charge, and I've noticed many people who post here don't have their details there. I've also noticed that it is slowly morphing into an industry magazine, not that that is a bad thing but... that's not what it was originally set up for. It would be a pity if the full potential of that site and CMS was not realised through people's lack of understanding of the potential. Funding is not forever, so please put your details there if you haven't already. jazz.org.au can help people find you! if you don't have a website with updated tags and even if you do, your contact details should be on that site if you are an Australian based musician who would like more work. |

it's depressing stuff, i went through the masters program they seem intent on dismantling and it was brilliant. it's just too sad when money managers undo the work of creative people (like tim) that has been built upon over years.
