Hey Kenny
I am dealing with Adrian Tame at the moment on a wee story, the man is a fabulous lunatic. I know he's a rock and roll freak poor thing. He is a brilliant jounalist: apparently known as "the Velvet Claw" back in the 70s as he could get any story out of anyone.
He is the cleverest man I know at finding an angle and a news peg for a pitch to the Ed. But, he is complete and utterly bonkers and worst of all things: HE HATES JAZZ!
Did you know he edited the Truth back in the days of mega- sleaze? However at that time, the Truth was the only paper doing any real investigative journalism. They broke a lot of stories the others wouldn't go near. Pity about the smut. Well, actually I kind of enjoyed the smut too but then I am an old tart and at the stage I was only 9 years old and I only got to read it if the butcher wrapped something in it. (Yes you young people reading this born after 1980, many years ago recycling was common place, even though you all think your generation invented it).

Thanks for your interest, yes I have resigned as AD for MIJF. Basically, it was increasingly difficult to juggle the demands of that job & the demands of working as AD for Wangaratta. The timelines overlap too often, you have to concentrate 100% on one when you should also be doing the same for the other.
So I think it will be in the interests of both MIJF and myself if I bow out, and just concentrate on Wangaratta.
Whoever takes over as AD for MIJF, I am sure they will find the Board & the executive officer will give them 100% support.

Very interesting Adrian...
You've done an absolutely stellar job over the years. Congratulations on a bold decision. Whoever they find to put in your place has some mighty big shoes to fill.
Looking forward to Wang!

Thanks Gideon. I'm sure this will create a chance for someone else to show what they can do ; as someone said earlier, fresh blood, new ideas, etc.

Adrian: you are so gracious and respectful. Please, would you teach me how to be so tactful and professional? I am really sad that you are leaving the MIJF, but I am SO glad it is because you want to be free to concentrate on Wangaratta because, bloody hell - it is only what, 14 weeks or so away. Yikes! Wangaratta is my favourite Jazz festival in the world. But I have only been 9 overseas festivals and two others in this country so I am not a world expert in Jazz Festivals, yet. Thank you for all your hard work, I have really enjoyed MIJF and Wang since I have been living back in Australia. You have helped keep me sane. And anyone who knows me well will tell you that is not an easy thing to do. So does that mean Jessica Williams will do Wang one day? Please, please , please: are we there yet? OK she's a Yankee, but she is hardly a big name, although she is taller than you, I think. www.jessicawilliams.comciao bello and thank you Oh and bring on the fresh blood, my vote goes to GB!
