I like the idea of me going ape on Radio, could be a real good bitch session. fuck the well written and pondered over reviews! Just an aimless rant by a bitter and twisted cock! Excellent!!! Can Dr Tim also inform where appropriate medication for twisted cock can be found?

we wouldnt want jazztrack turned into another music show like on Radio national though..i think the format is ok as it is,,,,,,,,,, but u r right about lobbying,,,,,& not just the abc but all the big broadcatsers.......... the abc has dig jazz but foxtel is promoting its own digital AIR radio now that has everything,,,,,,,,,, with the exception of a space dedicated to jazz ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,so maybe we shoudl just give up now........but ..........soemone in the murdoch clan must like jazz..........they still own foxtel dont they? I didn't say that it should become predominantly a jazz chat show with music but a jazz programme that includes some discussion. Actually, I find its largely unstructured disc spinning to be dated and often plain dull. There needs to be a cleaner break from McLeod's "pipe and slippers" presentation. The problem is there really needs to be more time so that music time is not reduced.

In the spirit of the discussion I offer a few observations... ..takes pipe from mouth... Agreed would love more time for jazz on Classic FM (& ABC generally though can only speak from my perspective)...please lobby ....all correspondance has to be answered.... Write or email the Manager of Classic FM...see the Classic FM website for contact details www.abc.net.au/classic/contact/general.htmAfter some internal lobbying a year or so back we achieved a new program 'Jazz Up Late' to broaden what we broadcast.. As to a specific Oz Jazz program..if the resources are provided...absolutely..though I think it's important not to 'Ghetto-ise' oz content at the expense of Jazztrack because it's important that oz jazz be played alongside international jazz as well... As to the 'disc spinning' comment..JT is primarily a music based program..that is its brief and probably appropriate for the timeslot though am happy to receive feedback....from experience we often get complaints if too much talk... In some ways it could be argued the best way to expose people to oz jazz is to play it....that's why JT plays our own studio & live recordings alongside the commercial oz & international releases....these recordings I think are important to the musicians and the audience...many also become commercial releases...... JT has a loyal audience and with an art form as diverse as jazz it's a hard call to please everyone but constructive feedback is welcome.... Mal S
