I know alot who would follow that article word for word but still be crap at music. A beaut press kit and a shiny poster won't make the music sound good.

People who don't do any promotion and wonder why nobody shows up could perhaps benefit from such knowledge. Yes a lot don't care, yes a lot could still be crap at music, but we all know a lot of great players doing gigs for nobody. Good music and good publicity can work people! Good press and crap music are not mutually exclusive. I know a lot of musos who spend more time whinging about lack of government funding etc than they do promoting their own gigs. Stop moaning, be proactive.
Now, how long until someone misinterprets that.

Charles Ives is one of my heroes. A very succesful businessman too I believe, but that could just be PR hype.
