As someone who sometimes writes about music I know how hard it can be. I think it’s harder to write about the great artists too. I believe Mark Isaacs is outstanding in his field so I enjoyed reading this review by? (no byline on the landing page). I learned some new phrases for describing music at the same time but I’m curious about the following:
“crisp yet trickling touch” (is that like crunchy water?)
“a very lounge approach” (does this involve sitting on a sofa?)
“even the hums and musical groans of a lone performer (dare one assume Mark himself?)” Hmm…perhaps it was the cleaner doing the windows?
Sorry I couldn’t resist! (Bad Vicki, bad, bad Vicki!) Great recording though, Mark! Apologies for teasing the writer, but they are unusual phrases!

I am proud to be the writer of such a piece. I am known to be different. I dont wish to be like everyone else thank you. Take it as it is. They are my words and every single word I wrote was written from supreme appreciation of the artists as well as a feeling of deep privilege that I was writing about someone I greatly admire. If it goes over your head, a good understanding of music is always a good place to start. As it was primarily of a pianist, I felt the words entirely appropriate. By the way Mark: thank you for linking it.
