Yes, congrats to all.
But saying "Jamie Oehlers’ status as one of the country’s leading jazz artists was confirmed after he won two major categories in the 2007 Australian Jazz Awards (The Bells) announced last night in Melbourne."
is a bit weird. I would have thought there was no doubt about his status, rather his status was being recognized. But thats just me, being picky again.

You should acknowledge who said that about Jamie: the editor of the Jazz Australia website, Peter Jordan as far as I can see. Editors editorialise. Whether he got it from an official Bell Awards media release I don't know, but somehow I doubt that the awards organisation would say it.
(I'm not saying I agree with your point. But at least source it).
