Yes, there is a gay-haired trumpeter out there. This is really a poorly disguised attempt to promote my jazz blogging debut, but there is a pic of the allegedly gay-haired, but strikingly handsome golfer slash trumpet virtuoso at the Adobe Probe gig here: www.ausjazz.net

It should be up by late tonight if I can manage, but that's three concerts more, each a double header ... I think. I'll be trying to be more concise. It's a learning exercise.
meanwhile, must do the parent-pick-up-child-from-party duty...

You do know it's 'Lonely woman' that was recorded in 1958, and not 'First song', right?
Yeah, thought so.

You do know it's 'Lonely woman' that was recorded in 1958, and not 'First song', right? Thanks for the correction, Tim. Charlie Haden also had it correct, but when I later read my jumbled scribblings from the night I transplanted First Song, which Quartet West played immediately before that, into the role of Lonely Woman. I'll fix it. I'm sure there will be other errors, so please keep pointing them out.

I had a ball last night at the Jam playing with a version of my band, circa 2003-4. Thanks Marc, Al and Scrote. Sometimes good things can happen at Jam sessions. Including the 'Mood Indigo' performed by gargling Gin on mic by two Jazz stars. Nice harmonies fellas.... It's just a pity those soft Sydney boys didn't stay for a hit!

Lame as. And Canberra guys. State of Origin, Bad Jazz Jam style. Bring it on. Whoever makes the most inappropriate song suggestion wins.
Go...

Where is the good coffee? I'll be there in september. Nadje Noorhuis thankfully introduced me to a cafe called Elephant and Castle (nothing to do with London) which has Melbourne-class latte. It's one minute from the Village Vanguard. It does great breakfasts too. 68 Greenwich Ave or try the website at: www.elephantandcastle.comThey also have restaurants in Dublin!
