plenty of blues lately, been loving the Scorsese series on ABC even if some of the re-enactments are a bit hokey.

Me too happy : been inspired to dig out some T-Bone Walker, Lightnin Hopkins and the mighty Howlin Wolf.

Me happy too!
The Bill Holman Band - Brilliant Corners, The Music Of Thelonious Monk.
I've long wondered just how good this take on Monk by the genius of west coast/big band is. Now courtesy of a US pal, I know. Holy smoke!

On y' Kenny, Thanks for helping us warm up the NSC with some weird-impro-shmazz. Not a bad room, although the stage sounds a bit dead, but I guess thats what you need for loud rock bands. Thanks to all the throng that turned up last night. I didn't want to talk too much (leave it to the music) but we really appreciated everyone that came down to offer their ears and support. Guthrie!!!!!!! eh?eh?eh? Tomasz Stanko - From the Green Hill, an oldy but still a beauty every time I hear it. Can't wait to see him and his band at Wang! Thanks JazzyJ Dino Salluzi - with Marc Johnson! Taraf de Haidouks - Band Of Gypsies The Fringe - Live at Zeitgeist (with Lovano) STinklers new one - eh?eh? sounds good to my ears (but Im a bit deaf) My new CD with Msrs Magnusson & Grant (+Rex/Barker/Murray)- finally mixed/mastered but waiting for artwork (and a good offer?!) Reminds me of another thread I don't wish to contribute to at the moment. Rokia Traore - Bowmboi Lhasa - the Living Road Rabih Abou-Khalil - The Sultans Picnic - some amazing harmonica and TUBA playing!! What else? Jamie & his band at 303 on Wednesdays and 12 Tone Diamonds live bootleg. Umbria? ? Melbourne!!!!!! ;D

Man, you should check out this hip young cat from Canberra. John Felstead man. He blows his own arse off. Yeah man, he really nails the captains Merimbula suite.

Scott plays everything better NUDE, wouldn't we all if we had iron guts and lungs of steel and no shame? Heard he does a great impersonation of Bob Dylan in his early 20's. The cabaret set where he plays love it.! Is it true that Scott is in Sydney doing a free-form interpratative modern dance show? ?? I'd pay to see that.....if it wasn't so regularly on offer for free.

Vice-Captain - what 'hip' musicians have come from Canberra?, I didn't know such a concept existed! I only know a couple - a caberet singer, and gig-whore bass player.

Man, you should check out this hip old fart from Tasmania, sorry Launceston, Alistair-Mackstar-McGrath-Kersy-Kerr, swinging and effectively employing f..k faces, whilst nailing the captain.......'s bottom end with his twenty inch bass drum.
